It probably could be a nice contra-bass provided that the wood is *seasoned* i.e. left to dry naturally for many years and properly dimensioned strings.

Thats quite an unsettling sight. I do so remember a similar situation 28 years ago - the only difference being that the bolt was even closer to the house where I was - 3/4 the distance as seen in the pic - and yes, there was a tall tree that got struck.

Yikes! That would scare me to death after I soiled my underwear first!
I happen to be afraid of some storms. If I hear this crazy sound of a
siren that sounds like a coyote howling I run and hide when I hear it
thunder afterwords. I've seen some bad ones come through here.
