my first favourite was the Schumann Fantasy op. 17 which I remember once trying to play the left hand of while a real pianist played the right. Having recently heard the Richter recording rekindled my love of this moving piece.

Now I would have to say the Janacek Overgrown path takes the top spot. He somehow manages to translate a range of deeply felt emotions directly into music without ever wasting a note. Suk's quite similar "About Mother" in places almost reaches the same standard

Behind that I would say Faure's Nocturnes, especially the last few. He is sadly neglected --for me he is a deeper composer than Debussy or Ravel (though I admit I want to get to know the solo works of the former better as the writing is undoubtedly exquisite).

And then probably the Schubert D.960 --for me his sonata cycle taken as a whole surpasses even the Beethoven

Sure, I like Liszt! Especially this version of his Hungarian Rhapsody No.2- I`m allowed to post this because Victor Borge is Danish, and this forum is based in Denmark. Btw, I`m just posting this as a bit of fun; I find it hilarious. I`ve seen it many times and it still makes me laugh! Hope you like it too.

Ha- true. That man can play. :up:

Ondine was great; the middle part is quite exciting.
Le Gibet is a bit of a downer, but still a great piece and very well played (great bell echo effect- perfectly done here.)
The Scarbo video kept stopping on me! Drat.

I`m going to go see if they have any new versions of La Valse- my fave.
