. . . . . Mythbusters, How It's Made

And few other shows aired on Polish TV. Usually I don't have time to watch them all. However when it comes to Lost I'm always on time at home to watch next two episodes:grin:

Mat,

Are these British and American TV programs subtitled in or has the Polish language been dubbed in? I really like that How It's Made program too. Although Mythbusters takes 30 minutes to explain what could have been done in 10, it does make for an interesting show.

Corno Dolce,
I watch The History Channel too - lots of informative programs there - Past history is always great knowledge.

Community Question,
Are you also plagued with endless commercials (ads) during TV programming in your country?

Hi Krummhorn,

I'm a History junkie - If I don't get my daily dose of it, I begin to mope.

Cheers,

We don't have subtiltles. The translation is read by one person. Hope you know what I mean:grin:. But I'd rather prefer to have a choice between subtitles/lector and original version

What a terrible thing it is when TV-programs interrupt the commercials. I have been noticing it more and more these days. If I pre-record the programs then my machine will automatically zap the commercials. Sometimes I forget to enable the machine - then I get to suffer commercials unless I zap them manually.

Italia 1, an Italian TV channel, is broadcasting the first season of Heroes. Is there anyone who has seen this series? And if there is, what do you think of it?

We tape some favorite programs for later viewing too - when the ads appear we're able to zip through them faster and without the audio.

Makes me curious - the idea of paid television was in my mind supposed to be free of commercial ads. Seems the higher my cable bill goes, the more ads I have to put up with.

Hello Krummhorn,

You record onto VHS? I thought maybe that you had one of those digital recorders. They are supposed to be pretty good from what I hear.

Cheers,

Corno Dolce

Hi Corno Dolce,

Yes, I'm still in the 'dark ages' with VHS ... it works for us at this time ... besides we have a couple hundred VHS format movies.

I haven't priced out digital recorders here yet.

I have some more favorite tv shows. How about Emeral Live, and other
shows on the Food Network? Emeril is my pick and Paula Deen. They
are like me from the south especially Paula Deen. She is from Georgia
and I'm from kentucky. Also on PBS network eventhough I'm an adult
I still like Thomas and Friends because I live next door to a real railroad
company, CSX Inc.., and Needle Arts Studio where they show different
arts and crafts made by either stitches, knitting, or crocheting. Like I
said my favorite hobbies are #1. music, knitting,Crocheting, walking to
my church and library, playing the church's pipe organ,etc.. Do you
think I have enough hobbies?

Corno Dolce, I need to keep myself busy with something or I get board
real easy. I'm the type that has to keep doing something or go nuts or
get depressed. I'm kinda like that with the handicap I have. I had a
nervus breakdown when I was a little kid and I'm not the same. Since
then I have had trouble learning and remembering what I read or discuss
in class because I have ADD with it.

Hi, Judy! :)
I know pretty well what having a nervous breakdown as a kid means: when I was nearly thirteen, I suffered from a very serious nervous breakdown, and I guess that it somehow made my life change, or get rerouted, so to speak. I am sure that now I'd be a whole different person if that event had never occured in my life.

Sorry for the OT.

Yeah my television is in tv heaven now. I still enjoy what I get on the
net here at the library. That's my new television. I like it better.
You can't really chit chat with cablevision like you can the net!

I can't watch any tv right now my tv went to broadcast heaven with
the black and white sets now. So my television is my computer where
I can entertain myself with computer games and chat with you guys on
the library's internet with this forum. Another favorite tv show lately
before my tv died was the Carol Duvall show, This Ole House, and If
walls could talk. Because I live in an old house.
