Dear Intet,

I'm sorry you feel that way. Yes, a wise man can learn from other people's experiences. Among other duties, the duties of a leader is to observe, to think, and to listen. As a leader you must break down the compartments - wherever they exist - of institutional parochialism, of "turf", of hierarchical layering. Let insight evolve from an atmosphere of open, shared thought, from a willing openess to a variety of stimuli, from intellectual curiosity, from observation and reflection, from continuous evaluation and discussions, from review of assumptions, from listening to the views of outsiders, from study of history, and from the indispensable ingredient of humility.

Back on topic: Without Classical music in my life I would be one very unhappy camper.

Cheers,

CD :):):)

I listen to classical when I practice on the organ or have a cd to listen
to with Mozart's picture on it. I also enjoy rock groups that mix classical
with rock & roll like the Moody Blues and Electric Light Orchestra.
Jeff Lynne and the guys did play violin and cellos in their music as well
as other guitars and drums with a piano.

Waaaah, I don't know how to answer! :bawl::grin:

Because it varies, and has varied throughout my life. But classical music has always been a predominant part of it, both listening-wise, and playing-wise. In my youth, I listened to a fair amount of rock and pop. Then for about 15 years or more, it was almost exclusively classical that I listened to. Nowadays, it's more of a mixed bag; I have no idea what the percentage is now because I go through phases. Lately it's been funk. But classical remains, and as well, I listen to rock, pop, jazz; all kinds of things.

My favourite music will always be classical though. It remains at the top of this list, preference-wise.

what a surprise, the thread turned to politics ... how boring.

I'd have to honestly say that I listen to classical music 90% of the time, the rest is a mixture of whatever else happens to be on the radio at the time.

Hello Intet, my dear friend:)

This is what you wrote in your former post

And this is a quote from a totally different thread, but still...

Has something changed?

Yours respectfully,
Mat

Mat :tiphat:, not at all. It was an example of learning from the experience of oneself or others, or the experience of a country.

I had no idea, that you guys would consider it political. Anyways, good of you to mention it, so I know the limits to what you all consider political talks.

Respectfully,

I listen sporadically. My listening tastes run a huge range of styles and genres. I haven't listened to any classical in a few weeks and have currently been delving into the metal sub-genres of Sludge, Doom, Post-Metal and the combinations therein. There are lots of interesting albums out there and only time to listen to one or maybe two in a day, sometimes not even that carefully, so if I get involved in one area, the others get excluded.

I am, however, in the process of rehearsing Beethoven 9 and a newly commissioned work for a concert tomorrow, so I do get my classical through my livelihood.

Haha! Only when it's good punk rock. And actually, I said 'funk', not punk. :p

Hey rojo, that was just an extremely mean attempt of me to check out, whether you really read all the posts or not. ;)

Now I am more than satisfied!!!!

I would say I listen to classical 90-95% of the time, and whatever happens to be playing in shops or on the radio for the other 5%.

It is interesting, I expected a more varied reaction (musically) but I have Classical as a passion, but I also enjoy jazz and folk, don't have any interest in Rock, pop or metal etc too juvenile, I will stick with Grown up's music
