Well, I am about to settle in with some Santana. Oh my oh my

Ah, Teddy, Santana's music brings back such great memories of when I was still young and free! Those golden days of Soul Sacrifice and Oye Como Va.

On Spotify:

Robin Trower--Farther On Up The Road {Disc # 3, The Chrysalis Years, 1977-1983}. For my money, this is by far the weakest disc in the whole set, as I found myself tiring of Jack Bruce's seemingly constant bending of words and whining nasality. I truly yearned for Dewar's cleaner, more concise approach. More Dewar's, please!!

Mountain--Nantucket Sleighride and Climbing. Not sure if this represents "prog rock" per se, but it is some good ass-kicking music with a lot of monster guitar riffs ala Trower and Hendrix. :guitar:

Gentle Giant--The Power and the Glory. I am given to understand that this is supposed to be one of the "great" prog rock outfits from the seventies, but, to date, they just don't do anything for me at all. I find their vocals to be nondescript, wimpy--and, at times--practically indecipherable. Any opinions to the contrary out there regarding them?

Very sevenries Steve. They might grow on me. They seem to have a good live reputation but I am not sure whether it is worth the time spent to allow them to grow on me or not. I will give them a second chance. I find their music interesting.

It's interesting that Gentle Giant and King Crimson are getting put together here.
Gentle Giant tried to be too complicated, changing strange time signatures all the time.
They were to recorder and lute troubador music what the Beatles were to skittle.
King Crimson had solid and versatile musicianship with deep songs, a great band.
Jimi Hendrix said they were his favorite band when he was in England. 'Nuff said.
