Problems like this can be difficult to troubleshoot. The problem can be occurring at your ISP, in your router(if you have one) or on the computer itself. It is not a bandwidth problem, as that would not cause a connection loss, only a slowdown -- and dsl is a dedicated line anyway, so you don't share your connection with your neighbors. The modem is an unlikely culprit as it would pretty much have to be a part failure and that would likely mean no connection at all. Try resetting your modem anyway just to be sure. If it is your router, resetting it to manufacturer specifications might solve the problem. Also, update your router to the latest firmware. If it is your computer, it is a software problem. A virus or other infection/intrusion can cause this, or a driver issue with your network card. If you have antivirus software installed, run a full system scan. If the scan finds nothing, disable your antivirus as it may be causing the problem itself. After that, update your network card drivers. If none of this works, call your ISP.
