I have lost faith in governments they are too cosy with "The Market" it just makes me wonder how many backhanders go around? another form of ideology just as bad as the religious ones

Not all governments are anathema. I seem to remember your country had no problems telling the US their nuclear warships were NOT welcome in Auckland Harbour. Also seem to remember you Kiwis gave the Frogs a run for their money, too.

Very true those were the days then along came a joker 'Roger Douglas' and forced Rogernomice down our throats we have gone down hill ever since although there is still some land that Kiwis still own but China has its beady little eyes on that

teddles - you are spot on. It's genuinely irritating that the cotton-wool clad marfia making business adopt a series of "commonsense laws" for the sake of so called Occupational Health and Safety. My experience with OH&S operatives is very negative and I deal with them daily in my job. They are just interested in their consulting fees at the end of the day.

It's always the "chosen few" that make any sort of money, always some new "in thing" ; I well remember "time and motion studies" , "work studies" and numerous other "studies" that all involved "consultants" making buckets of dosh for rhemselves H&S are just the current shower.

I think you will find that everyone (except the top story impaired) agrees that Climate change is happening, it has been happening ever since the earth had an atmosphere, but how much (if any) effect man makes is very,very questionable. Volcanic activity makes the difference
