And it should be *Es ist ein Ros entsprungen* ;)

When I lived in Deutschland, a *tongue in cheek* adaptation was
*Es ist ein Ross entsprungen* - *Ross* is colloquial for a Horse.

Your contribution to the list (Bach) is one of my favorite chorales - I use it in church at least every 3-6 months for a prelude.

Well, yes ... gotta work to pay the bills ... 3 Sunday services, 2 choirs - that along with my retirement pension makes life tolerable. I participate in 1 of the choirs as a handbell ringer.
