chip in! There's so much imagination in combining visual art with music! Who comes to mind, here, first and foremost?!!!

I see the Tango accompanied by the music of Astor Piazzolla - something my gal and I will be performing later on this evening with some friends of ours at a private party.

Perfect answer!!!!
Take a shot at it, my dear sir. I can thing of dozens of gorgeous CD covers that fit the music like hand in glove. Hypérion, perhaps?

Here's something:

The canvas illustrates my favorite organ composer after JSBach, namely, Charles Arnauld Tournemire sitting at the organ console of Ste. Clotilde in Paris. The canvas comes from a collection of 51 triptychs entitled "The Mystic Image Cycle" by Tom M. Walker - here's a link:

Enjoy!

I like Tournemire, too, but why not make this exercise into a stimulating game by withholding the answer for a moment, say, twenty-four hours? Obviously, the visual representation should be relatively explicit.
cheers

Woops! Sorry if I made a mistake - I certainly did not want to let the cat out of the bag too early :eek::eek:

No mistake. We're merely negotiating the terms of ... who knows what?!! I see that you include French in your signature. How fluent are you in French?
BTW, it's still your turn.

It's RELATIVELY explicit.:grin::grin::grin:
Boy, is this a shot in the dark or what?!
Sacrificial Lamb: "Desseins éternels" from La Nativité du Seigneur (Messiaen)

Fellow Magle-rites take a shot at this, because CD will be withholding his enigmatic answer for the next 23:35 hours.....

Ooh, what a fantastic idea, ON!

Aw, my pc keeps timing out on the link CD posted. I'll have to check back later.

This should be great fun!

Edit- Ok, I've seen it, and that's a toughy. Obviously I'm not as well versed in organ works as you organists. So I'll agree with ON's answer.

Oh my goodness ON - Am I known for "enigmatic answers"?:eek::crazy:

Heavens to Betsy.......What have I done? :D:D:D
If thats the case then I don't think that anyone on this forum will get the idea behind the picture that I posted.

Apropos "Sacrificial Lamb" - In Messiaen's "La Nativite Du Seigneur" there is a movement entitled "Jesus Accepte La Souffrance"(Jesus Accepts The Suffering) - Messiaen so perfectly captures the horror that will befall Christ.

Ok dear ones - this might be an anti-climactic moment for you:

The organ pictured is the one in Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the various exposed pipes and their arrangement have been likened to "French-Fried Forest". I know its a REAL stretch of the imagination but since Disney has been known for its musico/film-matic/family fun fare, I felt it a challenge for MIMFers. Yeah, I know what you are now thinking: "What a horrible dud that Corno Dolce posted - he is a bit *touched* with lunacy.

Yep, it is amazing - The mad King Ludwig II died two years before this castle was completely finished.
