You couldn't make it up - part 2!

This one makes even less sense, claiming from a car owner by a police officer injured whilst recovering the owner's car which had been stolen.

The plod was doing his job, why can't his employer's insurance cover it?

Are car owners now going to be blamed for some eejits pinching their cars? I can just see insurance rates going up if the plod wins his case!

There is an even better one in todays paper. A policewoman went to investigate a late night burglary. In the process she tripped but continued the investigation. She is now suing the owner. This comes under elf nd safty. Apparently he did hot have a warning sign up saying there was a trip hazard. In your home you would need to label every trip hazard, every fire or radiator (DANGER CAN CAUSE BURNS) every doorway (DANGER TO TALL PEOPLE) BEFORE YOU COULD LET A COPPER ONTO YOUR PROPERTY (DANGER DO NOT SHUT YOUR FINGERS IN THE GATE) LET ALONE YOUR HOUSE. In the last two years police have claimed a total of £42,000,000, yes thats forty two million in compensation from innocent people whilst on duty. It seems it is not safe to call the police anymore unless you have good public liability insurance. CHECK YOUR INSURANCE.

A local McDonald's was sued several years back because the coffee cup did not have the words "Caution, Hot Coffee" on the lid. D'oH! I mean, every cup of coffee I've ever had was hot ... they don't served iced coffee in a coffee cup.

I'll have to look at my auto insurance policy on the other matter ... probably under the heading 'acts of god' ...

It does seem that the 'victim' is, more and more, being blamed for all the mistakes that society makes these days. Everyone is so very hungry for the almighty dollar/pound that they invent ways to sue the pants off each victim.

Stop the world ... I want to get off

Not the way I would describe most of the ones I have met. They seem more concerned in making sure we are all PC.

MARK Twain knew a thing or two about political correctness when he said: "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it."

I always loved the line from DUNDERHEAD WILSON when the hero on hearing a dog bark pronounced I WISH I OWNED HALF THAT DOG, I WOULD SHOOT MY HALF.
