Hello!
I was just wondering... What is more important when it comes to composing a movie score: atmosphere or emotional (and catchy!) themes? I know scores that have both (like those of Vangelis), but what is more important for you as a listener? I personally think that it depends on many things. As a standalone piece of work, CD has to have great themes in it, but as a background for a movie... the atmosphere is everything! Also, for me, atmospheric scores which do not get stuck in your head, without any catchy moments, live longer for me and I don't get tired of them for years...
What do you think?
Thanks!
