Have you ever made your own steel drum?
If you are only traditional with musical instruments, watch out.
If you ever play with a guitarist who has a synthesizer with convincing steel drum sounds,
and he starts bending notes, that will bend your brain.
It might even get you interested in Jimi Hendrix.
Playing with a Toronto Caribana Festival Band Contest winning band, Drastik Measures,
featuring Reg Hinds on lead guitar, bent my brain too.
The cathedral organ tones, bending notes, was deeper, giving my brain the bends.

Allan Holdsworth is a strong, and pretty guitar player. I'm not sure these guys could follow me.
