Too hot for the poor koalas

Would you rather be here? I have some pictures from the local newspaper.
This is the day after and a few days after the ice stormed finally melted.
I cried when I saw all of these damaged trees around and about the
community in town and out in the suburbs. You may not see it but on the
first picture there is an inch of ice on everything.

Gosh, we are at the very opposites of climate experience, aren't we CT64 and Judy. Something's not right (not wishing to get more scientific people into a debate, of course).

My heart bleeds for those who are too cold and those who are too hot.

Oh those poor koalas, they must really be feeling the heat. I am sorry for anyone who is suffering extreme heat or cold.

Hi Judy, I prefer the cold and as to below freezing temperatures, it's par for the course in your neck of the woods. However, parts of Florida experiencing just above freezing is NOT good, I saw that on the Sydney news recently. Brrrrrrrr

Hi Contra! It's nice to read of you again. I was beside it being icy
outside, I had no electricity to even run my computer and talk to
you guys for a week. I thought that some probably would have
brought back the "Where's methodistgirl" thread. When I logged in
for the first time in a week I had 300 post to read!

Since the ice storm, the trees here are so tore up I feel like I'm on
another planet. About 10 houses here are either dammaged or
burnt up because the house couldn't take different kind of heat.
People have died here because of the cold temps down to almost 0.
That's 30 below C. Now I heard that we were expecting a big snow.
Still snow is a lot better than ice. But roofs will collapse if the snow
is too much. I just can't wait until spring gets here in March.
Madisonville will be digging out in a few weeks. I just hope our power
lines don't go down this time. I remember the last blizzard in 1995
here when my mother was still alive. At the same time California had
an earthquake. Just like Australia two years ago Kentucky was just
as hot one summer. Even some weeds couldn't take the heat and
no rain in sight!

Judy you state "just like Australia" in connection with Kentucky. You possibly have little idea about the size of Australia. If you place a map of Australia over top of a map of the United States it's the same size (excluding Alaska). So the Kentucy-Australia just doesn't make sense, on so many levels.
