Hello fellow members,
Thank you for welcoming me to your community as a new member. I have been actively interested in music for most of my life
and have had experience as:- a choir member (tenor.....and sometimes a
bass); a church organist; a practice pianist for a musical society (I'll never
forget Finian's Rainbow, great musical; great music!). On more than a
few occasions I was the orchestra for Christmas concerts/pantomimes using
my Intercontinental electronic organ. I was also the organist in a trio. We
performed in a pub, and my chief duty was to accompany singers for the
night. This was hard work. A good ear was vital, and an expert working
knowledge of the 24 major and minor keys.
I am still a church organist. I accompany the choir;
practice with them every Thursday evening; play on Sundays, before and
after the service. I play a different piece each Sunday. This week its Gounod's Marche Romaine; last week a Bach Fugue; two weeks ago it was
BWV 904;and so it goes on and on.............
Up to now I have never played a composition of my own. Maybe
as a member of this community I will obtain the inspiration to compose
and launch my music onto an unsuspecting public..............
