The Italian Job soundtrack, what version?

Hi, at the end of the Italian job 'The self preservation society' starts to play but it's different to any version I can find on YouTube.

You can hear it at the end, I cannot find this version anywhere.

If this is just a bunch of movie people having fun at the end of the movie,
when they weren't sure of the ending or the sequel, that's all it is.
You've got it here.
I just looked to see what TheStratman was doing,
and that's nothing Stratocasterish.
And Strat players, more than any other kind of guitar,
weren't known for self-preservation. Even I know that.
And I played a '64 upside down, left-handed.

There were two (2) film versions of this title:

1) The Italian Job (1969); and 2) The Italian Job (2003).

Bear in mind that not every song heard in a film makes it to the 'soundtrack'. There are a variety of reasons one being copyright and/or musician royalties (prohibitive costs to the producers of the movies).

If the song you are hearing is not listed on either of those two soundtrack listings, then is simply does not exist in print or recorded format, other than in the movie itself.

As for the Stratocaster thing, I can't really comment, the strat I own is a copy and I know very little about them. I just thought 'TheStratman' sounded cool!
They look nice though!

All right! I always thought Strats looked the best, but, that's old man talk.
The first Strats felt different, having the slanted body so you can move your arm.
Leo Fender invented them to be his version of a stand-up steel guitar,
but that's enough free old man talk.


I saw the original "The Italian Job" as a movie, and that meant in colour and stereo,
when I was a high-school usher at the show, one of the best jobs I ever had.
They had just installed a new JBL system with an 18" speaker bolted to the floor,
for the earthquake shaking effect.
I could play my own cassettes when I was shoveling coal downstairs, after the show.

If you're talking movies of this era, I know, I know, but, have you seen "Barbarella"?
A huge part of that is seeing the Viet Nam era war protestor and anti-American, Jane Fonda,
playing the part of a "science fiction sex kitten". She was the first with hit videos about exercising.

Yeah, what were the big movies of 1969, 1970?
2001, Easy Rider, Bonnie and Clyde, Herbie the Love Bug, Chitty-chitty Bang-bang,
Will Hieronimus Merkin ever find Mercy Humphe and Achieve True Happiness?
Planet of the Apes, Rosemaries' Baby, Woodstock, but but,
what about that movie, where I'll never forget the start?
It's got Gene Hackman in the late sixties, out in corn country, mob bosses in the city.
It starts showing cows being led past you in a chute, sounds of slaughter in the background.
One of the cows has a naked man draped over its back, going through the packing process,
with the sausages being delivered to the boss in the city as a reply.
This movie also has the best corn combine machine chase, and use, all time, for sure.
Hey! What can I say! John Deere was just down the street, and I went in there a lot.
Used to.

The nice thing about offshore guitars is finding a nice neck on a body you like,
and start upgrading from there. It's so nice for me now, seeing lots of lefties.
