Their first CD ‘Falling Asleep’ (2011) encompasses new art-rock and sophisticated pop, modern alternative and progressive metal, mainstream and atmospheric moods. I’m just struck by the production and accomplished musicianship. Ter’Azur is a group that knows their own stuff. The 13 compositions ranging in length from over 2:30 to a mini-epic track under 10:40, are strong on melody. Sometimes very dreamy, then suddenly toughened up with heavy riffs and skin bashing department. In spite of complexity, all compositions tend to build in character rather than resorting to technical gymnastics. Lead singer has a warm voice with versatility to can quickly change from a lower to high pitch and vice versa. Classy piano and keyboard parts contribute undeniably to the band’s signature. Quite polished drumming is remarkable and the bass lines are solid as well. These German guys easily make up for that in skilled arranging…
