sorry to sound cynical, but listening to that it sounds computer generated, the accents at the beginning of each syllable just don't seem right somehow.

Thanks for the feedback. Other than some reverb, the only effect I added was a pitch shift of a couple of semitones for the soprano. My falsetto just isn't quiet high enough!

Thanks for the discussion! Actually the response I've been after is that it couldn't be just one voice! I'm a 58 year old man. Although I've never had any formal voice training, I have always loved choral music. About a year ago, I started playing around on my computer recording my voice. Over time I improved the sound with the goal always being to create the fullest choral sound possible. Right now I'm trying to create a sound that might eventually be marketable with the angle of a one man choir. If anyone has tips along that line, I would greatly appreciate them. Here is another song that I recorded and posted earlier. I hope all of this helps resolve any doubt that it's me singing all the parts.

Finally got around to listening to bloeff's link. It's a thoroughly good effort and reminds me of the sorts of things I used to do when I bought my first cassette multitracker many centuries ago. The most I ever managed though was six parts and that was still for male voices only - was never brave enough to attempt soprano or alto range either, even with falsetto (well, not whilst sober anyway).

The artifacts introduced with the pitch shifting does give away a bit of electronic help and sounds a little chipmunkish in the very high register, but overall, it's an ambitious project, so good luck with it!

One the biggest choral highlights in my life was singing (in choir no. 5 I think it was) for a live performance of Spem. A profoundly moving experience.

Yeah stop reminding me! I did have a nice Tascam 8-track reel-to-reel for a little while, but unfortunately the guy who said I could have it on permanent loan decided it was not so permanent. I still have the reels though, it was a damn nice machine and came with two racks of dbx units - excellent noise reduction there.

There are basically no limits doing multitracking on computer these days, as indeed bloeff has ably demonstrated.
