Tags

The post I just made kept flashing up an error message re too many tags being added, when I selected preview or post; I didn't add any!!

When I scrolled down I found that about 20 tags had been added automatically when I hit preview; is there any way to stop this happening.

Just tried a preview of this post, nearly every word was tagged! B***** ridiculous

What use are tags anyway?

What use are tags!!!!! really sir, you astound me if it wasn't for tags the NZ food supply chain would fail, so would all forms of musical performances that depend on tags as does the motor industry, it was said in the late 17th cent that any one bad mouthing a tag would be deported to Birmingham, oh and for good measure the Americans sent a tag on the first earth orbit.
So if it wasn't for the good old tag we would be in a heck of a mess! completely tag-less

We had a similar problem on our sister site, Talk Classical. I have changed the setting here on MIMF to match those we have on TC. Hopefully that should take care of the issue.

Not really ... the change I made hopefully prevents the software from generating its own tags to each new thread.
There is still a limit on the number of tags any one member can add to a thread.

What does it mean by "Tags"

I thought is was a limit of 5 and only 25 characters per tag..maybe not as I have not had a problem with mine

Thats what I thought Bill, another form of a link, but the post I am having problems with is straight forward text, this morning I composed the post on MS works doco and tried to copy/paste but it still refused to accept and I use the same method for all my long posts never had trouble before?

Text : What I mean is the post is just straight forward font.
MS Works doco : Is the normal form of making a document on Microsoft.

These are words that would be used a lot on any music forum?? I just don't get it

never sen this on mine.. maybe it is the site you are uploading the file from is the problem.. mostly I use youtube posting.. perhaps it is the file type that has to be approved.. check with ars

No file used just plain old words, I will try using those words on this post and see what happens.

Well that was OK so I tried again to post my subject but still no good.
