Some A capella Music from Zambia

Hello everyone.:)

I play an instrument but I also love vocal music. Here are some links to music done by a Zambian group "Hertage Brothers" or "Heritage Brothers Zambia". The performance was done at the Lusaka Museum some time in January or February 2010

The first one is "Blessed Assurance" done in two languages (English and Nyanja) and the second is called "Munda Uyo" (brief translation can be read when you open the link. Munda Uyo is also done two languages, Tonga (which is my mother tongue) and another African Language which I'm yet to identify.

Well, enough talking (or typing), lets get to the music!

Lovely link Lovemore. I always enjoy the human voice being used in this way, probably because of my time spent in Wales.

I love well arranged and executed music. The harmony is so pleasant. And I just love listeninng to that bass too.

Teddy, why Wales? Is there a lot of human voice music in Wales?

Yes, they are well known for it. The little village I lived in had a population of 1,400 people and that included the hill farms. There were three chapels and two churches so there was a lot of singing going on. I will try and find a link so you can experience some ot it.

The singing by "Heritage Brothers Zambia" was lovely, very tuneful. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Its a real pleasure hearing the different singing from around the world. The way different peoples use their voices and the expression they utilise. I would like to hear more from other countries.
