Im not sure where to start to be honest, but I heard his piano is killer.

Im looking for something rather laid back and quite slow as Im trying to learn the piano, hopefully Chopin can provide me with much needed inspiration.

Ummmm, Chopin isn't exactly easy, but there is a few of his Preludes, they are slow try prelude in E minor, I forgot what it's Op number is...but it is slow.

I wouldn't reccomend to start off with Chopin, but perhaps some of Beethoven Sonatinas? I play a few of them, and they are perfect for the new beginner.

Yes I was fearing that.

Thanks, even though I won't be able to play to begin, im sure they will be great to listen to.

I'll be sure to check out Beethoven's sonatas too.

Hi,I agree that Chopin is a bit hard to start with but you can enjoy by listening...I for one am a great fan of his music so I would recomend his nocturnes, and his etidas are something else, not just for working on finger tecnich, they're beautifull to listen...I don't know how much do you know about Chopin, but his life is interesting as much as his work, and I'm sure once you hear his etidas You'll want to know why and how did he write such beautifull music...
Hope you'll enjoy...

And if I can help with more suggestions...just ask:)

If you want to learn some good pieces to start off with, try Bach, Minuet in G, it was originally created for his wife who wanted to learn music. Or some of his other minuets, they are perfect for beginners.
