Ooooohhh! Somebody's gone and put a popular band in the Progressive forum. How dare he?

Well, actually R.E.M. was a very individual act that combined aspects of psychodelia, heavy, beat group and even a bit of punk and the B-52s. Michael Stipe has one of the most recognisable and individual voices ever in Rock music.

I may be on slightly shakier ground than with Kate Bush here, but I will persevere.

Kate Bush is progressive in my book, but I can't hear anything prog in REM. And I do like them and I have most of their abums.

REM is a legend. Kate Bush is a bit near from being one.
