PM has been read, but still appears as unread

I've had a PM, read it, followed a link in it and responded, but it still shows as a notification each time I visit the site, I've also tried selecting it then clicking mark as read, no change!

Thumb in bum and mind in neutral time, there was a second message, must have arrived while reading the first. Sorry for hitting panic button.
