PDF for free

Boring topic, I know, but if you know of a free (not cheap, free) PDF software that has the funcationality of Acrobat Professional (write, compile, markup, et cetera).

You might try pdf995. I started using this a year or so ago in lieu of actually printing out internet order confirmations. Later, I used it for printing music compositions. Recently bought the PDF Suite for more functionality and still discovering what it can do.

Krummiest - thanks for the recommendation - I need one that is able to "merge, delete, mark up" (so with the functionaly of Acrobat Pro but not at its price).
