... after yesterday's Cataract op which seems to have gone OK; no pain apart from a dull ache after the local wore off, after about 3 hours, paracetamol (tylenol?) is sorting that. The needles applying the local were a bit disconcerting, but the most aggravating thing was the eye shield and the gauze pad it held in place, as the local wore off every eyelid movement was most irritating; also the shield made wearing specs somewhat difficult; I found a previous pair and bent the arms which worked up to a point.
Not sure if the local would have had any efect on the sinus, but right nostril seemed to be partially blocked for a time but then the nose did try and emulate a tap for a while.
Finally gave up trying to do anythjing about 8 pm, went to bed and listened to Classic FM until I felt dozy (well dozier than usual) and managed to sleep. (Sorry I missed the Skype chat)
Shield is now off, main thing I notice is that things are much brighter/higher contrast, this screen (composing the post) is now almost black on white instead of shades of grey. Prior to the op the white on dark teal was among the more easily viewed screens. Sight is not perfect yet, have to wait a few weeks then have an eye test and new specs.
