Niels Viggo Bentzon...

Hello to our esteemed Danish contingency on MIMF---

Whats up with the music of Niels Vigo Bentzon and the Publishing House thats supposed to publish his music? It seems that EWH has difficulty in doing the job they're supposed to do. I'm having as much problems dealing with them as I have had with UE in Austria.

Everytime I try to order something I always get the wrong work and have to send it back. When I call the staff at EWH and UE and pose a friendly question, all what I get is a nasty and hissy reply that usually ends with them getting all bent out of shape and shrieking.

I have now stopped doing business with EWH. They don't seem to be interested in customer relations and business related to Niels Viggo Bentzon.
My time and business are better suited elsewhere.

Cheers,

CD :):):)

This site is truly international. I have attempted on two or three occasions to "contact" Danish experts on their national classical music but ... to no avail.

You guys can check out the thread I started on twentieth century Danish composers. Didn't get any hits from any Danes, but I bought a lot of CDs and wrote a little bit about them. (I've gotten more since then. If I can grab a minute, if you want, I'll post more to that thread.

Please, help these poor friends of ours, guide them so they will reach what they search for. Spoken by a dane, however not an expert neither on Niels Viggo Bentzon (piano), who has done some jazz as well. His son though, whose name I can´t remember plays jazz - nor Karl Nielsen.

Thank you some guy:cool:;)

I remember performing some of his piano works decades ago... I can
recall working with the Partita and some 'ultra short' piano pieces which were newly composed at the time...

I think that the problem with NVB is his prolific output and its varying quality. I would hesitate in shooting too heavily at his publisher - after all, they need to make ends meet ad I believe that it would be a challenge to cope with some complete edition of NVB's work. Sooner or later, I guess they will get there if there is a real demand. Otherwise, what would be the point in having used resources to publish music that would only collect dust on the shelves...

We shall see what happens...
