Need guidance to promote my composed beats.

Hi music lovers, I have recently finished composing a few beats of my own and need to make them available to a professionally managed music company. The problem is that I don’t know how to go about that. Are there any sources, techniques or any other ways to go about this in a better way?

Hi paik3,

Welcome to MIMF, btw ... hope you will return often and enjoy the many topics of discussion we have here.

By stating that you have composed a "few beats", a couple questions come to mind:
- what genre' of music is your composition?
- by a few beats, is this a few measures, or an entire piece?
- is it written for voice, instrumental, or a mixture of both?
- is this your first [and only] composition?

The first thing you may need to do is have this work performed. Having a recorded example of your composition to present along with the score is rather essential in trying to procure a publisher.

We have an internal forum, called Composers & Musicians Connection where it reads, in part:

" If you are a composer who would like to make contact to a musician or musicians (ensembles, orchestras, etc.), singer(s) or conductors, that they may perform your music, you can make a post (start a new thread) for each work you would like performed (though please group similar pieces together in one post). Please include as much and detailed information as possible about the work, if possible a score excerpt (or the whole score), etc. Please be specific about what you are looking for, a musician, an orchestra, etc. Musicians can then reply to your thread, and potentially a fruitful musical contact will be made!"

These are some of the first steps towards publication and/or performance of your composition.

Other things you may wish to consider, is letting this forum community "preview" your new composition by posting sound excerpts, not necessarily the entire work. You can do this in this forum area but not until you have made at least ten (10) posts elsewhere in this forum community ... meaningful posts, mind you, as one would when participating in a discussion.

Looking forward to learning more about your new composition.

I think that the first step you should do is to gather a few friends of yours and test the beats on their ears…because they will be able to provide a judgment on your composition…and that too free of cost.
