Commodore of Water Music
Hey everyone.
As you all probably figured out by now, I am a pianist. I busk at a restaurant/cafe. Luckily the resturant/cafe has an electric piano there, a nice spot at the boat harbour. I have a repoitoire of approx 17 songs which I know by memory and takes about an hour and a bit to run through once.
Ok, now to the point, on a Sunday about a month ago now, there was a producer there who saw my talent and invited me to his studio. The producer is from a company called "Air Time Records" which is also based in London. He reckons I can make an album of 12 songs, of which 2 should be my own composition. I will have no problem doing 10 already known songs.
So there you have it, going to make an album of my playing. The album cost $25AUS each, what ever the conversion is I don't have a clue.
Making an album wont be easy, it means recoding the songs at optimal performance level. So it means practicing the song over and over again, basically so you can read a book whilst playing.
The producer was impressed when he saw me talking and playing Moonlight Sonata to the one lady.
I started the recording yesterday, was quite hard to get it perfect, no songs to keep yet! But he said that the 4 hours that I was there he could hear that I have improved. He reckons I could record the songs all in a space of a month. I will see what happens, and notify you on any changes.
Cheers
Gareth
