Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier BWV731

Greetings to all.

This is one of the most sweet, eternal and beautiful melodies I ever heard.
Was running and turning and twisting inside my head now and again so I decided to play and share it with you.

I played again my custom VPO + SIR2 environtment. Mp3 at 128.

Registration :
GO : Principal 8' + prestant 4' + spitzfloete 4'
Pos : Hohlfloete 8' + chimney flute 4' + sesquialtera II + sweet tremulant
Ped : Subbass 16' + GO to Ped coupler.

The trick is to not add a 2' stop to sesquialtera, so the cornet effect to be softer - sweet and with lesser presence. At least, this is how I like to hear this devine melody.

I played freely as I felt and enjoyed the resoult.

Excactly Analogicus !

There is a site in youTube where they say G.Leonhardt plays BWV731.
I started waching and singing and enjoying one of my favourite players and suddently just at the end of second pass of the first theme (one bar before repeat) the video closes !!!!!:scold::smash::scold::shake:
Where's this devine conclusion of the second part ?
On closer look they say in small letters : "exerpts from 731" !!!!!:scold::nut:
What exerpts, you *&%$#@!!+^&**** it's just 2 1/2 min long, is not a Shostakovitch symphony !

There are people still untouched by Sebastian's heart and genious, my friend..

I'm glad I helped you to relax after hard day !

The reverb.
I insist on many of my replies, posts, threads. Since we play with electronic instruments good reverberation is an Axiom, a must.
Even for Hauptwerk (= To explain need a separate thread)

I got many VST reverbs (about 20+) and selected to work mostly with SIR2 4channel stereo convolution. This Cathedral comes as free add on in SIR2 from Penguin. A great place to settle our VPOs.

The others are, PCM Lexicon and ReverberateLE(free/donation).

Voxengo has a great convolver but is expencive and a bit complicated(Lexicon & SIR2 are too but I got them as a Christmas gift from a good friend).

And, the Orgelbuchlein-settings of this chorale are beautiful too.

Well, of course BWV 639 is a gem: Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ.
And BWV 622 is great (O Mensch, bewein' dein' Sünde groß)!!
(And difficult, I presume. )

But there are so many other great preludes in this little organ book.
What about BWV 611: Christum wir sollen loben schon?
