Actually, the best language for the whole world to learn is Korean Hangul. It is a totally scientific language invented by King Sejong and his Court of scholars in Korea. It does not borrow from any other Asian language. Now, there are some classical Hangul texts where you'll find Chinese characters but you don't need them to conduct business in Korea.

You may do a test on it. Try to throw Æblegrød at someone? You will not succeed. But you can throw mashed potatos (kartoffelmos) at someone, almost like snow balls, of course without the snow.

maybe you're not concentrating enough? knowing to write in chinese, or at least understand what the characters mean, is one of my desires. i thought, if i know/understand what those characters mean, i just won't be fooled. besides, if you know chinese characters, somehow you can understand others as well like japanese(?) perhaps. i tried kanji after i borrowed a self-help book from a friend. it was interesting since i create codes myself as a hobby. i learned that complex characters are combinations of simpler characters that can form a word (or even a phrase if i'm not mistaken). for example, the image/character of a 'tree' (that looks like a tree, by the way) formed triangularly (one on top, two under) makes a 'forest.'

Sweet Corn ... did you know that the specification for the Korean language (by the emperor) was twofold: 1) it should be learned by an intelligent person in 1 or 2 hours and 2) should be learned by the local dullard in an afternoon

My couisn tried to teach me basics fo Chinese. Here's what I got from him:
'wo hui shuo zhong wen' which translated to English sounds like this - I can speak Chinese. I've even learn how to write it:grin:. It took me a long time... And second one 'ni hao wo jiao Mat' which means Hello, my name is Mat.

But maybe it's time to learn Danish? Hey Intet, next time we meet maybe we'll talk in your native language:grin::grin:?
