Jazz (piano) enthusiasts?

Hello members,

Am new to this forum. Is there an area where jazz (piano) enthusiasts post? My hope is to record my solo jazz piano pieces (standards and originals) post them on my website, discuss with other members, and also be able to listen to other member’s jazz recordings. If this is possible which one of the Music Forums would be best to post in? I'm assumming "Fusion & crossover....." Are there very many Jazz people here? Please say hello, let me know you're here.....

No worries, we have a bunch of jazz fans. I'm a jazz piano enthusiast myself. We mostly post here, in the jazz sub-forum, which you're most welcome to join right away. Do feel free to post your music.

Myself, I really adore Monk, Tyner Hancock, Brubeck and lately Esbjorn Svenssoon.

Thanks very much for your warm welcome. It's nice to know that there is a place where one may exibit some of their work and listen to other people's music. Some things that I am working on are: "You Must Believe In Spring", "Darn That Dream" and "You're Gonna Hear From Me". Most of my attention right now is fixed on "You're Gonna Hear From Me" played by Bill Evans. He plays the head Rubato and then very subtlely, almost totally undetectable, changes key and his trio then joins in. I am transcribing his playing to really understand the tune and how he makes that "mysterious" key change. Bill is absolutely my favorite Jazz pianist and I do transcribe a lot of his work.

Hey Dan,

Evans was a very talented pianist, with recognizable style. I've heard a lot of his music but not the piece you mentioned. I'll have to find it and have a listen to the intro as well as the rest of the piece.

I had a quick look at the track list and it seems very promising. I'm particularly curious as to what he did with Round Midnight and My Prince Will Come. I also see the album features Time Remebered, which I happened to play a couple months ago. It's most interesting that, in the piece, Evans did not use one single dominant chord. It gave the piece a bit of an impressionistic feel, plus it made soloing a bit more challenging. Do you know it?
