Help! A piece of piano works in a Godard's movie, what is it?

The first 40 seconds is the one I said. I also wonder if it's a piece often used in silent movies. But I don't know what it is, can anyone help? (is that Beethoven's?) Thank you in advance!

I knw that music well - mainly because it features in a Baby Einstein video that my son has! He recognised it immediately!
