Gershwin vs Prokofiev piano conertos

My viola teacher gave me his copy of the prokofiev piano conertos done by Andre Previn, and I've been listening to them a lot trying to understand them. They have been pretty difficult pieces for me. So far I have enjoyed the concerto no 4 for the left hand a lot, the last movement has some really beautiful chord structures. So far I have considered the Gershwin piano works too be much better, I've enjoyed them a lot better. I think there is a lot more genuine substance and melody in them.

It may just be because I don't understand all the prokofiev pieces yet. I was wondering if there is anyone who really enjoys them who could help me out. I have enjoyed many other prokofiev pieces but I just haven't found a lot of good sturff in his piano concertos, I have only listened to numbers 1 4 and 5. Are the other concertos any better or different. If anyone really enjoys numbers 1 4 5 could you encourage me to try to understand it, because so far I haven't gotten much from it.

One of the most famous piano concertos ever is Prokofiev's third; and his first follows it in popularity, you may want to try this two first. They are very good works, not hard to listen at all, and very traditional in form. Getting a video of the third by Argerich, so that you can see her acrobatics, may make you fall in love with the work.

Olssohn said they most difficult piano concertos are Bartok 2nd, Prok 2nd and Rach 3rd. If you can play any of these, you can play whatever you want in piano literature.

The first time I read the thread's title I understood something like

"Gershwin" versus "Prokofiev piano concertos". A matter of phrasing.
I can't imagine how old George chap would fight those five fiercy beasts.
