I see that the EU has forced Insurance companies to stop discriminating sexually when quoting premiums. This means that for example young women motorists will face increases of around 40% to bring their premiums in line with those of males of the same age, regardless of the fact that young males have far more accidents and more serious/costly accidents than the young ladies.
Do we see this as not so much driven by equality concerns but rather that the legislators mates in the insurance companies stand to make much larger profits than at present?
Cynical? Moi?
