The blame culture has got way out of hand, all sorts of activities are being affected, quite a few Classic Car shows have folded because the insurers want ever higher premiums "just in case", or placing severe restrictions; at one time it was common practice at such shows to have an enclosure where vehicles could be paraded and owners interviewed about their cars, now some insurers are insisting that no vehicles may move while the public is in attendance so they can't go to the "parade ring" from their club stand or position on the show field.
Hi vis clothing is required for all sorts of stupid things, a party of children on a school outing may be required to wear hi vis stuff in some places in others only the teachers need it.
If you don't want another parent to take photos at school sports day or the nativity play etc, then don't let your child participate. (Does wonders for the little darlin's, friendships "mummy won't let me take part cos your daddy might take a picture that includes me" It also spoils things for other parents & paints you somewhat neurotic!
