In my view, it’s a great thing when mature musicians continue to be creatively honest in the face of so-called ‘modern prog’ opposition… Tagged with unholy description ‘neo’, Credo have maintained their own course and continued to progress. Definitely, ‘Against Reason’ is a worthy follow-up to a highly-acclaimed ‘Rhetoric’ and develops the band’s style even more. This CD is the culmination of all efforts to date. Just a cracker! The eight songs manage to walk a fair line between musical exploration and accessibility - excellent melodies and instrumental sections that join everything together nicely. The keyboards of Mike Varty have provided a foil to Tim Burrell’s fluid guitar playing, the rhythm section of Jim Murdoch (bass) and Martin Meads (drums) sounds competent. Vocal performance of Mark Colton is passionate and very emotional…

It’ll be interesting to see where this British outfit can go from here, but for now sit back and enjoy the distinctive Credo sound. A real treat which I can recommend to lovers of the 80-s inspired progressive rock.
