Collecter's Items

Since some of you collect music instruments, I wonder if
any of you collect other things. It could be rocks, old
records, salt shakers, and more. I would like to hear
you on that.

Joyce used to collect bears too, still got some around.

I've got some of my mothers wedding presents, china and glass mainly, from the 1920s. I also collect stamps, oldest of those probably dates to late 1850s.

I seem to collect lots of bills ... the ones that are due and payable

Seriously though, we collect shot glasses from places we have visited

Even though I don't have as a habit the collecting of old coins, I do have in my possession some really old ones - Funny though, how such items find their way into my vault.

Photos. I make a new album every time we have a hiliday, which is not often. Plus any specially events. Lots of the children and grandchildren etc. I am also caretaker of the family albums, some of which go back to Victorian times and were obviously taken on old plate cameras. Sadly not all of them were labeled so we do not known exactly who people were. I am experimenting with family portraits taken with a 60 year old Ilford Twin Lens Reflex camera in black and white and hope to make a gallery for the family archives.

I used to collect rocks, record albums, 45s, shells everytime
my parents took me to Florida, ink pens, and CDs. Here I've
seen people collect what I call do dads like figureines, trinkets,
and memerbilia. Some collections make money like aluminum cans,
pocket change, plastics, and other recyclables. I still have my
collection of shells. I also started back collecting rocks. As
for starters in that collection I have a new quartz crystal.

I forgot to mention that I collect crochet hooks at different sizes,
knitting at different sizes, and different yarns. I have one pair
of knitting needles that are the size of a good pair of drumsticks.
They even sound like drumsticks when I hit them together.
Yarn, I have enough to start my own yarn store, I've collect so
much of it. I also have a cloths hamper full of items I have all
ready knitted and crocheted. I have four coffee pots too.
One I use to brew tea since it's so small.

I believe everyone should move house at least every ten years. It makes you turn out. We have been here 30 years and now have a shed full of my mothers things as well as everything else. We are trying to undertake a massive reorganisation at the moment but it is hampered by the fact we do not know where we will be living. I have a collection of MatchBox models, mostly over 50 years old but they have lived in a box for at least 20 years. I have come to the conclusion that I may as well sell them. At least some one else will get pleasure from them.

They could well fetch good money, do a bit of research into them and find a good outlet.

Google gives a lot of sites. Found one with lists for sale, noticed prices up to £85, most between £15 and £40

I do have some rare ones Mike but unfortunately my mother threw the boxes away when I was little. This does have an effect on the price of course. The trouble is at the moment I do not have the time or energy to do anything with them. I could do with a month off to get myself organised and get some of these jobs done.
