Can't create a profile

How to I create my profile? When I go to "User Control Panel" and click on "Edit Details" I get a notice that "YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED!!! ETC. presumably under penalty of death.

In any event, how can I "Edit Details" when I don't seem to have had an option in the first place to create any "details."

Any help here in how to originally create a profile. Thanks.

Ramon, they do appear to be having problems with this aspect of the site I have clicked on your public profile and it shows the basics you may have to be patient and hope that it is fixed
btw if you click me you will see that I am someone else that has been banned lol

Hi Ramon,

Profile access was turned off at the beginning of this year because of the plethora of "profile spammers" that descended upon this, and many other major forums. Spammers were joining the forum, then posting spam and porn all over their profile fields, and it was becoming quite an ordeal, not to mention a very time consuming project for the forum admins.

We are going to upgrade the forum software in the not to distant future, and we will then have far better controls for preventing this from happening again.

We have just completed installing the new software upgrade on our sister forum, Talk Classical, and it's running great. Stay tuned ... it's coming for this forum, too.

Same Here

I too have experienced this issue. Is it only applicable to accounts created after the first of the year? Reason being, I can still update profile information on my old account but not on the one I'm using right now.

This will all be corrected once the new forum software is installed.

For security reasons I cannot divulge the actual date when it will happen, but rest assured, it is coming.

After upgrading the forum software, I have installed a new improved "spam guarding" system. It cannot protect 100% against spam, but it is good enough that I've switched back on the option to edit user profiles for all users!
