Bruckner Motets

Help needed! - does anyone know if it is possible to obtain recordings of these where you can listen to each of the voices separately?

I'm a first-timer on this so apologies if the answer is already in the archive.

Hi Burtonski,

Welcome aboard - Please do make yourself feel right at home and stay for a spell. Hmmm - I pondered your query a bit - I don't think there are commercially available recordings of the Bruckner motets in which one can listen to each voice part separately. My suggestion is this: If you can read the notes in a choral score, listen to a recording of the motets whilst you read the notes for your individual part. I once sang in a choir where the music director had made a tape copy for each voice part with soloists singing the part with piano accompaniment.

Cheers,

Thanks to you both for giving this some thought: not much luck with YouTube as yet but it might be a question of experimenting with search terms.

Hello Burtonski

Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your question, but I hope you do find it.

This might nog be very helpful, but when I have to learn a new piece I "type" it in Finale and then selecet play back only one "voice" at a time. I find it easier to learn a new piece when I know what each voice sounds like.

Thanks for the tip Johan: it means I'd have to acquire Finale or something similar. I'm actually enquiring for someone else (who sings - I don't) so this is an interesting discovery which I'll pass on.
