He's entitled to his opinion and I'm afraid no one can judge whether his opinion is right or wrong, if his opinion is anathema to you, then I suggest you don't hunt out You Tube posts like that. YouTube, afterall is open slather for anonymous nobodies to make unproovable ascertions.

Welcome aboard to a great site aka MIMF. Just as an example, Lang Lang from China plays Chopin, Madoka Inui likewise. It does not depend on where the interpreter comes from. Someone I once knew said that Japanese people cannot understand the music of J.S.Bach - I calmy then invited the twit to witness on DVD how Masaaki Suzuki and his Bach Collegium touched the hearts and minds of the audience.

To me: unless there are physical/mental reasons involved anyone can play anything with proper training, education and practice. Biggest limitations for pianist maybe well the size of the span of the hand in-order to reach the intervals involved as an example.
