Antonio Pappano Honored With Knighthood

Antonio Poppano Music Director of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden has been named in the New Years Honours List as the recipient of a Knighthood.

I'd say Antonio Pappano is on most anyone's short-list of most renowned Opera conductors active today. With the sidelining of James Levine through the end of 2013 (at least), he might be at the very top of the list, now.
