The christening of Prince Nikolai Frederik Magle at the organ
Fredensborg Castle, Denmark, November 6, 1999
On november 6, 1999, Frederik Magle (together with The Brass Ensemle of the Royal Danish Guards) gave the first performance of his piece "Light on Your Path" dedicated to His Highness Prince Nikolai William Alexander Frederik to Denmark, at the royal christening in Fredensborg Castle, where Frederik Magle was asked by the Danish Royal Family to play the pipe organ and compose music for the ceremony.

Frederik Magle also played his Fantasy for Organ "Spring Sun" as prelude. This piece was given its first performance in Stubbekobing Church at the visit by the Royal Family in the summer 99.

While the guests were arriving Frederik Magle played Variations on "ABC" (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (Johann Sebastian Bach) and an improvised fanfare during the entrance of the royal family.

Besides Frederik Magle and The Brass Ensemble of The Royal Guards, The Danish Radio's Girl's Choir also participated.
